DIY Nest Cleaning and Cooking
Raw nests after harvesting
Pick one of them for cleaning
Put it in the tap water
Let's it fully expand for around 2 hours, depending on dryness of the nest
You need these tools for nest cleaning
Some dirts in the water after taking out the nest to be discarded
Let's start the cleaning process
Clean the nest strand by strand
If too many small dirts put the nest's strand in the water for few times, most of the dirts will drop out automatically, the rest and the feather to pick up by forcep
Place the clean nest in the mould
If you can not finish on the same day, just dry up the nest on the fan
Carry on the cleaning when you are free, by put the nest in the tap water again
Mission completed for 1 pc of raw nest, my speed is around 2 to 3 hours per nest, one piece of raw nest become 2 pcs of clean nest
Dry up the clean nest on the fan
After 12 hours
After 24 hours
After 48 hours of fully dry, you can keep the nest with others clean nest
Pick 2 pcs of the clean nest for cooking
Prepare some herbal ingredient, I am prefered only rock sugar
Boil it for few hours with auto mood, around 5 to 7 hours for this type of cooking
Lastly it's ready for consumption, Personally I am prefered the nest is cook with rock sugar only, so you are able to smell the strong chicken egg protien smell while consumption.
